At Monroe Hospital, we believe that patients are the center focus and they deserve convenient access to services on a schedule convenient to them.  Since October 2006, we have continued to offer the community a choice for healthcare services.   With five locations around Bloomington and surrounding communities, our physicians offer medical expertise in the areas of Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Sports Medicine, and Gastroenterology.  The Monroe Primary Care network is dedicated to providing you with the best possible healthcare experience, and we look forward to serving your needs.  Please contact one of the primary care offices listed below for more information.

Nuha Musa, MD graduated from the University of Baghdad Medical College with a degree in Medicine and Surgery, and completed her residency at Seton Healthcare Network in Austin, Texas.  She is currently a member of the American Academy of Family Practice, and the American Medical Association.  Dr. Musa is Board Certified in Family Medicine.

 

David Steinke, DO attended medical school in Kansas City, Missouri.  Prior to graduating medical school, he taught high school and college, and served in the United States Army for three years.  Dr. Steinke is Board Certified in Family Medicine for all ages.

 

Jennifer Winders, MD  is a native of Nashville, Indiana and graduated from Indiana University and Indiana University School of Medicine.  She is a member of the American Medical Association, American Academy of Family Physicians, and Sherwood Oaks Christian Church.  Dr. Winders is Board Certified in Family Medicine.

Jeralyn Allen, MD graduated from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN.  She is a member of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, American College of Physicians, and American College of Sports Medicine.  She specializes in Internal Medicine and Sports Medicine.

 

Thomas Sharp, MD is a native of Bloomington, Indiana and a graduate of Indiana University.  Dr. Sharp is a member of the Medical Society Executive Committee, Indiana Academy of Family Physicians, American Academy of Family Physicians, and is the Monroe County Commissioner of Health.  Dr. Sharp’s specialty is in Family Medicine. 

 

W. Craig Spence, MD is a graduate of Indiana University and Indiana University School of Medicine.  Dr. Spence is currently a member of American Public Health Association, American Medical Association, and American Academy of Family Physicians, among others.  He is also very active with both the IU School of Medicine and the IU School of Music.  Dr. Spence specializes in Adult and Adolescent Medicine.

 

Wendy Veeder, PA  is a native of New York and graduate of SUNY Cortland (BS), Springfield College, and received an MS  from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine—Southwest Center.  She is a member of the American Association of Physician Assistants and the Indiana Association of Physician Assistants.  Wendy specializes in Pediatric and Family Medicine.

Richard Weddle, MD is a native of Bedford, Indiana and graduated from Indiana University.  He is a member of the Medical Executive Committee at Monroe Hospital and his specialty is Gastroenterology.

William Schmalz, MD is a native of Bloomington and graduated from Indiana University.  Dr. Schmalz’s specialty is Internal Medicine.  He is a member of the American Medical Association, Owen and Monroe County Medical Societies, and the Indiana State Medical Association.

 

Theresa Woodard, FNP graduated from Indiana State University and the University of Indianapolis.  She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the Coalition of Advanced Practice Nurses of Indiana.  Theresa has experience in critical care nursing and specializes in Internal Medicine.

Kristi Nissley, FNP is a native of Orleans, Indiana and currently lives in Mitchell, Indiana.  She attended Indiana State University for her undergraduate nursing degree, followed by five years of ICU nursing experience.  She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.  Kristi specializes in Family Medicine.
